What is Wombn's Work?
“It is often said that the first sound we hear in the womb is our mother’s heartbeat. Actually, the first sound to vibrate our newly developed hearing apparatus is the pulse of our mother’s blood through her veins and arteries. We vibrate to that primordial rhythm even before we have ears to hear.
Before we were conceived, we existed in part as an egg in our mother’s ovary. All the eggs a woman will ever carry form in her ovaries while she is a four- month-old fetus in the womb of her mother. This means our cellular life as an egg begins in the womb of our grandmother.
Each of us spent five months in our grandmother’s womb and she in turn formed within the womb of her grandmother. We vibrate to the rhythms of our mother’s blood before she herself is born. And this pulse is the thread of blood that runs all the way back through the grandmothers to the first mother. We all share the blood of the first mother – we are truly children of one blood.”
~Layne Redmond, When Women Were Drummers
Through "Wombn's Work", we seek to awaken different aspects of the divine feminine which is a powerful way to counter the patriarchal structures that have dominated society for centuries. By reconnecting with the sacred feminine principles of nurturance, intuition, and holistic thinking, we can challenge the rigid, hierarchical, and often oppressive systems that have marginalized women and diminished our innate power.
This process of Womb'ns Work involves circling together, reclaiming our innate wisdom, embracing our emotions, and honoring the cyclical nature of life, all of which can help to create a more balanced and equitable world. By understanding and embodying these archetypal energies, we can cultivate a deeper connection to the natural cycles of life; which are our own cycles and seasons; fostering a more balanced and holistic approach to our personal and collective growth: to reclaim our power in all aspects of our lives.
Throughout this course, we will explore the sacredness of the womb, the cycles of the seasons, phases of the moon and different aspects of Womanhood. Through cultivating simple ceremonial self-love practices and embracing the divine feminine energy within (and all around us) we will explore 13 phases of womanhood over 13 months together.
By the end of this course, you will have a deeper understanding of your own body, mind, and spirit, and will be well equipped with the tools to live a more authentic and empowered life.
